Leganes, meanwhile, will enter Tuesday’s contest off the back of a disappointing home defeat to Valladolid on Saturday, which has left them in 19th position in the table.

Javier Aguirre’s side are now level on points with basement side Espanyol, although they are only three points behind Celta Vigo in 17th and still have plenty of time to escape the relegation zone.

Barcelona vs Leganes: Team News

Barcelona will be without Jordi Alba after the Spaniard picked up his fifth yellow card of the season last time out, with Junior Firpo expected to replace him at left-back. Oscar Rodriguez is also suspended for Leganes, having received his fifth yellow card of the season against Real Mallorca.

If this clash had been played when it was originally scheduled in March, Barcelona would have looked rather different – and Sergi Roberto, Arthur Melo and Luis Suárez would almost certainly have been absent.

As it is, Quique Setien’s men are now in pretty good shape, with only Jordi Alba’s suspension and
Ousmane Dembélé’s long-term absence following surgery on his hamstring to contend with.

Leganés will be more worried about suspension than injury against Barcelona – in the dying minutes of their loss against Real Valladolid at the weekend, centre-back Dimitrios Siovas and talisman Óscar Rodríguez picked up one-game bans which will rule them out of contention on Tuesday.

Last time out Leganes were beaten 2-1 by Real Vallodolid and go into Tuesday’s game with a poor recent record against Barcelona, losing six of the last seven league matches between the two sides.
