Champions-elect Bayern Munich will lift their eighth consecutive Bundesliga title on Tuesday night if they win away to relegation-threatened Werder Bremen.
Thou Bayern were less convincing in their 2-1 victory against top-four candidates Borussia Mönchengladbach, which must have been due to the absence of suspended duo Lewandowski and Thomas Müller.
Forty points from 14 Rückrunde matches nevertheless has them on the brink of a 29th Bundesliga title. Three points against Bremen will seal the deal with two games to spare.
The match is highly significant to both sides. The Bavarians, who have been unplayable in the Bundesliga this season, will be crowned champions with a win.
They have been walloping all before them on their way to the crown and their march seems unstoppable now.
Bremen on the other hand find themselves among the bottom three sides with three matches to go and will need a win to keep their hopes alive, especially after a good outing last time out.
Lewandowski scored twice, and Müller once, in a one-sided win over Bremen back in December.
